Michael Phelps eats 12,000 calories a day while training. And that is a lot.
Ok, so I’m training for the Nottingham Marathon (sponsor me) at the moment and there is not long left. I have recently put some impending work-related deadlines behind me so it’s time to start training harder again, workouts are going to be quite intense for the next few weeks.
My problem is that I find it very difficult to pace myself through training, it is not always an advisable strategy but I find that the only way I can train is flat out for a week or two, then rest, then flat out again. The main problem I have with this is being able/willing to eat enough during hard training times. I love to eat, but I have my limits. Then I read this and realised that I’m just being a pussy.

Yeah when you work out eating is the biggest problem. People always say it’s so hard to lose weight but the truth is, everyone has been hungry at some point or hasn’t been able to fill their stomach every chance they get, but eating when you’re not hungry has to be one of the most disgusting things you can do.
To gain muscle mass without gaining too much fat is a very difficult job indeed. If you’re training for a marathon I can imagine there will be times you need to build reserves just for a short time so overeating in short bursts. Doesn’t sound that bad, then again I’m not sure what type of food you’re going for.
