Yesterday I attended the Workshop For Web People in Leicester.
So yesterday I attended the Workshop For Web People in Leicester. I’m not going to rant on too long about it I can’t stand excessive wokshop/conference commentary and someone has probably twatted or twitted it at the time - whatever that means. So why the post and why the graphic? - oh and the title?
Basically Andy delivered the days lessons via a demonstration mockup site about a fictional Ska band, and very nice it was too. Only problem was that when I saw the first slide, with it’s classic monotone checkboard styling, I thought - ahh, I’ve got that Nightmares on Wax record at home with a cover like that - that’s a great tune, forgot I even bought it, I should buy a new turntable - or get one of those USB things and transfer my vinyl across to digital - maybe iTunes has it - it’s a great track, Roots Manuva’s on there too I think, classic cover, particularly on a big record sleeve and I re… Shit! I just missed the introduction.
No matter though there was still plenty left to be had.
Anyway this is not a transcript just a quick acknowledment of how well organised the event was and that you should look out for wfwp workshops. A good day - and my markup will improve. Simple as that.

I hear ya Glen, my markup is definitely ready for some polishing after Andy’s talk, though I fear a CSS frameworks bun fight might be about to start again.
On a related note, I bought myself one of those USB turntable things, and thaought it was great to listen to stuff I hadn’t heard in ages. I think Firebox have them on sale at the mo.
All the best Kev

Thanks Kev - and my apologies for the default avatar - the gravatars seem to be screwing up at the moment and I don’t have the time or inclination to work out if it’s my site or gravatar.com.
It seems a bit random. Some work and some don’t.
I’ll check out firebox.

I hate the idea of those USB turntables, cheap nasty plastic jazz-ma-taz. Give me my Vestax and a long cable any day of the week, I’m never going to get the time I need to convert everything I own anyway.

hello,
I think that the real music is on vinyls.
